Gnawa music is one of Morocco's most powerful cultural exports — a hypnotic blend of West African rhythm, Sufi devotion, and centuries of shared history. This evening session brings a small ensemble of Gnawa musicians to an intimate rooftop setting away from the crowds of Jemaa el-Fnaa, where you can experience the deep bass tones of the guembri and the metallic clang of the qraqeb up close. The set moves through both traditional trance pieces and more contemporary arrangements, with musicians happy to explain the spiritual roots of each song. The evening winds down with mint tea, Moroccan pastries, and an open Q&A about the Gnawa brotherhood tradition. Limited to small groups to keep the atmosphere personal and acoustic.
