Marrakech is famous for its Zellige—the colorful mosaic tilework that covers palaces and fountains. In this workshop, you realize the immense skill required to create it. Opt for Zellige and you will learn to chip glazed clay tiles into precise shapes using a sharp 'Menqach' hammer, then assemble them face-down into a geometric star pattern. It is a puzzle of logic and art. Alternatively, sit at the traditional potter’s kick-wheel. Feel the wet red clay of Safi spinning between your fingers as you coax it into a bowl or tagine. It is meditative, grounding, and harder than it looks!
